<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Middle class families remain always concerned about their budget, like how much to spend and how much to invest for hard days. But their planning always seems to fail due to some payments for essential services. Electricity bill is the main amongst them that keeps on raising higher and higher as you add on a new appliance for your comfort to your home. Now after the invention of solar panels, it was easy to cut off the electricity bills but harder to invest a huge amount on buying them at first. People have to lay thousands and thousands of dollars on their roofs in the form of solar cells. This was not a good idea. But good news is that you can now <a href="http://solarlpower.com/solar-panels/build-solar-panels-at-home" target="_blank">build solar panels at home</a> and that too by investing a small amount of money. The panel that you will make at home will be as per your requirement and as per your budget.</p>
<p>It’s not tough to make your own solar panels at home as you might think. But just some basics which you should know about soldering iron, making a concentration, wiring and how to make use of tools with nuts and bolts. That’s it and you can begin with the making.</p>
<p>Now if you really want to <a href="http://solarlpower.com/solar-panels/build-solar-panels-at-home" target="_blank">build solar panels at home</a>, then begin with buying a kit from market. This will be much easier and don’t worry about the costs, its low enough to buy. Further you may not require any assistance as the kit you will buy includes an instruction guide which will help you making your solar panel at comfort. The things you need to know are like using tool box, working with nuts and bolts and soldering a metal. That’s it and you are done.</p>
<p>It’s an effective way to save your hard earned money instead of paying for electricity bills. A problem can be there for those who live in cool areas where sun hardly comes out of the clouds to help you out. Perhaps panels for cooking will be a waste at those places. It’s possible the time sun is hot and your solar cells are generating electric current at a high rate and you are not in need of the supply. So here comes the role of battery. Buy a good battery as per the configuration of solar panels you have and let the all time generated current be stored for you so as you can use it any time you wish.</p>
<p>At last you need to know about the storage device. It’s not necessary that the area in which you live is hot enough or full of sun rays throughout the season. Don’t forget about the night. Your panels won’t work at that time. So you will need some batteries to store your inverted current in it. It can be then used when ever you wish to. If you will now go for it and <a href="http://solarlpower.com/solar-panels/build-solar-panels-at-home" target="_blank">build solar panels at home</a>, you will undoubtedly help maintaining an eco-friendly environment and saving some form of energy by utilizing the waste part of solar energy.<br />

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you believe <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/solar-energy-books/' target=_blank >solar glass</a> and photovoltaics is a relatively new development in technology, you will be surprised to learn it is actually the kind of technology that has been around for more than 100 years. The story of solar glass and photovoltaics began in 1839 when the Alexandre Becquerel experimented with electrodes and electrolytes and discovered an odd level of conductance. </p>
<p>Further experiments in 1873 and 1887 continued to show solar glass and photovoltaics yielded indeed illuminating results with a number of different materials. It was not until 1904 Albert Einstein actually worked on the problem and offered a succinct explanation of what happened on the physics level of the reaction. From there came the 1918 development of the first solar cells. As the space race between the United States and the former Soviet Union heated up, solar glass and photovoltaics became further developed for use on space satellites.</p>
<p>Today, <a href='<br />
http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-technology/' target=_blank >solar technology</a> is a much sought after commodity in the residential as well as commercial market. The idea of turning sunlight into usable electricity and stored up warmth ? as opposed to paying princely sums for electricity from the power plant ? has inspired homeowners wanting to save money to check out green building options and incorporate solar panels into their homes. </p>
<p>With the increase in demand and the continued development of cheaper <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/' target=_blank >solar panels</a> and easier ways of retrofitting already built structures to also benefit from solar technology, it goes without saying that sunlight will become one of the most desirable energy sources in the near future. Wind technology is currently its main competitor, but the guarantee of the daily sunlight tends to beat wind technology ? at least in the minds of consumers ? any time.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not a day goes by employment figures do not paint a dismal picture. Jobs are lost on a grand scale, and the United States workforce is scrambling to reeducate, retrain and switch professions. There is one field however, which is enjoying a serious upswing: <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/solar-energy-books/' target=_blank >careers in solar energy</a>. The environmentally friendly procurement of energy and its various way of being utilized in the home or in business has given rise to the formation and development of green collar jobs which require filling. </p>
<p>Careers in solar energy include the manufacture of <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/' target=_blank >solar panels</a>, the installation of said panels, and of course also the servicing of them, once installed. Moreover, other careers in solar energy include the manufacture of home solutions that allow for an easy plug and play adaptability of various panel options in modern new home construction. Yet, did you know: the employability of trained solar technicians does not end with the home itself but instead goes much further and deeper than that.</p>
<p>Other careers in <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-conversions/' target=_blank >solar energy</a> deal with the various public use venues that now rely on solar energy for lighting, signage, and several mechanical aspects of doing business. What is more, the large scale harnessing of solar energy requires not only installers and technicians, but also administrators and electricity flow designers who can adequately manage the alternate sources of energy concurrently with the conventional means of providing electricity. Education for these kinds of jobs is already being offered on the junior college level and also via distance learning venues.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>New home construction is slowly picking back up and <a href='http://www.renewablepoweroptions.com/' target=_blank >green building options</a> now make up the portfolios of a wide array of home builders. The demand for green building options is of course driving this development, but its popularity has always been a known driving force in the home building industry. After all, consumers who had the funds required to commission a custom built home, generally also envisioned money saving and environmentally friendly options that seemed to naturally go together. </p>
<p>The majority of <a href='http://www.renewablepoweroptions.com/' target=_blank >green building</a> options involve the use of material choices. These are materials which may be ecologically sound, derived from environmentally friendly locales, or simply comprised of renewable resources. At the same time, in some cases green building options can be something as simple as determining the direction a house should face, just to capitalize on the sun exposure and also the natural runoff the site possesses. The former helps with the regulation of heat and cold, while the latter greatly influences the landscaping. </p>
<p>The popularity of <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/residential-solar-power/' target=_blank >green building options</a> requires construction workers to undergo a new level of education that allows them to make good use of the improved building materials at their disposal. Moreover, in some cases the use of conventional building materials concurrently with environmentally friendly materials is not indicated, and unless a construction team is trained in the adequate use of available materials, the full benefit cannot be reaped. In this case, the popularity of green building options is also leading to a niche in the construction industry, the creation of green collar jobs, and a run on community colleges that offer construction workers the coursework needed.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the 1800s, solar energy was first used. As a source of power for the home, solar energy hasn&#8217;t proliferated as it has with calculators and wristwatches. Solar power got off to a rough start in the previous century.S. experienced oil crises or embargos. But its proliferation has not yet been accomplished, mainly due to its cost.</p>
<p>Here in the 21st century, <a href='http://www.renewablepoweroptions.com/' target=_blank >renewable energy</a> has once again become a hot topic. Steps are needed to save our planet, including using fewer fossil fuels. We need only to harness a portion of its solar power to meet our present energy demands.</p>
<p>In fact, if just 4 percent of the earth&#8217;s entire desert area contained solar panels, it would supply all of the electricity the world needs.</p>
<p>We can harness the power of the sun with the use of solar panels. To fully comprehend how solar panels work requires a background in chemistry. However, each panel is a collecton of photovoltaic, in layman&#8217;s terms. (PV) cells. The inner content of each PV cell is highly-purified silicon. Silicon has properties that act as both a metal and an insulator. </p>
<p>The light from the sun is captured by the PV cells, and creates <a href='http://www.renewablepoweroptions.com/news-articles/' target=_blank >solar power</a> by producing electricity. When sunlight hits the panel, electrons are dislodged. This creates an electrical current that can be used or stored. Storing excess power is a problem with solar energy because the sun does not shine all the time and PV cells do not store power. The solution is deep cycle rechargable batteries, which can store power harnessed from the sun.</p>
<p>Solar panels work quietly and do not produce radiation. Since the parts don&#8217;t move while generating solar power the panels rarely brake down. Presently there are 14 types of PV cells, each made of varying kinds of silicon. use solar panels as a supplemental energy source for utility customers, rather than as their sole energy source.</p>
<p>Your building&#8217;s roof or its windows can have solar panels built right in. Facades and canopies are also suitable applications.</p>
<p>New kinds of <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/' target=_blank >solar panels</a> are now being researched. The objective is to increase efficiency and lower costs associated with using solar energy. we can take advantage of all the power the sun has to offer.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar energy was first used in the 1800s. Although it is common for calcators and wristwatches to operate with solar energy, its proliferation as a source of power for the home is not as common. The use of <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/store/' target=_blank >home solar power</a> experienced fits and starts in the last century, especially whenever the U.S. experienced oil crises or embargos. But its proliferation has not yet been accomplished, mainly due to its cost.</p>
<p>As we begin a new century, replenishable energy sources are a big topic once more. Steps are needed to save our planet, including using fewer fossil fuels. We need only to harness a portion of its solar power to meet our present energy demands.</p>
<p>Solar Panels in just 4 percent of the worldâ??s desert area is sufficient to provide electricity for the whole universe. </p>
<p>We can harness the power of the sun with the use of <a href='http://www.siliconsolar.com/?bid=26&#038;partner=shendison' target=_blank >solar panels</a>. </p>

The light from the sun is captured by the PV cells, and creates solar power by producing electricity. </p>
<p>Electrons come away from the panel when sunlight makes contact with it. An electrical current is created, which can either be used immediately or stored for later use. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You have undoubtedly seen the headlines proclaiming the federal government goes green and encourages citizens to do the same. Have you ever wondered what it actually means when the federal government goes green?</p>
<p>?Perhaps the most readily seen impact of the government going green is the creation of green collar jobs. While before a small number of <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/' target=_blank >solar energy</a> technician could handle the workload, suddenly there is a demand for more solar energy technicians, and as such new jobs are created in the field. </p>
<p>?As the demand for skilled and trained technicians increases, the need for training increases as well. Junior colleges are usually at the forefront of answering the call for training the workforce, and already there are programs that have sprung up in support of the new federal trend. </p>
<p>?As the federal government goes green, local governments are likely to follow suit. This greatly increases the creation of green collar jobs in the technology and installation fields, and it also generates jobs in the educational arena for the training of these workers. </p>
<p>As you can see, when the federal government goes green, it generates a lot of new jobs that thus far have not been in high demand. Moreover, the energy savings the many offices will realize tend to translate into bona fide national conservation efforts that also help ? in some cases ? already overloaded grits to not suffer from outages. Everyone wins when the feds go green, and for the average resident, business owner, or homeowner, it also stands to be a winning solution to their own energy needs and worries.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In a day and age when dollar stores sell cameras and other devices which would normally cost a pretty penny, it is only a matter of time before the latest solar powered gadgets also become available at laughably low prices. The most common consumer products currently on the market as easy to use latest <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/featured-solar-products/' target=_blank >solar powered gadgets</a> are personal fans, radios, iPod chargers and cell phone chargers. </p>
<p>Homeowners are already well aware of the latest <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/featured-solar-products/' target=_blank >solar products</a> which could be used in the yard, such as fountains, garden lights and the holiday lights which adorn so many homes in the months of November and December. This now begs the question if you would opt for more crucial gadgetry, if it were solar powered. Imagine the use of the latest solar powered gadgets that could involve toasters, TVs, and other consumer goods that are luxury items and nonetheless enjoy daily use.</p>
<p>The downside of these latest <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/solar-powered-gadgets-and-gizmos/' target=_blank >solar powered gadgets</a> of course is the lack of sun. If there is no direct sunlight over a prolonged period of time, these gadgets will cease to store up energy and may not work. Moreover, if the use is too heavy at times, they may use up whatever charge they stored and before long there would be no TV, no toast, and no other luxury items that are working. This of course explains why consumers with an eco friendly mind enjoy the use of solar panels, but still shy away from solar powered gadgets themselves.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar energy was first used in the 1800s. As a source of power for the home, <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/' target=_blank >solar energy</a> hasn&#8217;t proliferated as it has with calculators and wristwatches. Solar power got off to a rough start in the previous century.S. experienced oil crises or embargos. But its proliferation has not yet been accomplished, mainly due to its cost.</p>
<p>As we begin a new century, replenishable energy sources are a big topic once more. Steps are needed to save our planet, including using fewer fossil fuels. Since the sun is an abundant energy source, we need only to harness a portion of its solar power to meet our present energy demands. Solar Panels in just 4 percent of the worldâ??s desert area is sufficient to provide electricity for the whole universe. </p>
<p>By utilizing <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/' target=_blank >solar panels</a>, it is possible to tap into the sun&#8217;s energy source. Unless you have a background in chemistry, you cannot understand fully the working of solar panels. However, each panel is a collecton of photovoltaic, in layman&#8217;s terms. (PV) cells. Each PV cell is made of highly-purified silicon. Silicon acts both as an insulator as well as a metal. The light from the sun is captured by the PV cells, and creates solar power by producing electricity. </p>
<p>Electrons come away from the panel when sunlight makes contact with it. An electrical current is created, which can either be used immediately or stored for later use. Since the sun is intermittent, and since PV cells do not store energy, the excess power can be stored in deep-cycle rechargeable batteries.</p>
<p>Solar panels work quietly and do not produce radiation. Solar power is generated with no moving parts; therefore, the panels require no maintenance. Each of the 14 types of PV cells is made of some kind of silicon. It is now most common to use solar panels as a supplemental energy source for utility customers, rather than as their sole energy source. Your building&#8217;s roof or its windows can have solar panels built right in. Facades and canopies are also suitable applications.</p>
<p>At the present time, research is being conducted to develop newer types of solar panels. The goals are increased effectiveness in harnessing <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-conversions/' target=_blank >solar power</a>, as well as reducing its cost. we can take advantage of all the power the sun has to offer.</p>

Although it is common for calcators and wristwatches to operate with solar energy, its proliferation as a source of power for the home is not as common. Solar power got off to a rough start in the previous century.S. underwent periods of oil shortages and embargos. But its proliferation has not yet been accomplished, mainly due to its cost.</p>
<p>Here in the 21st century, renewable energy has once again become a hot topic. Not only is it important for our nation to become less dependent on fossil fuels, we also need to take steps to help save our environment. We need only to harness a portion of its solar power to meet our present energy demands.</p>
<p><a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/' target=_blank >solar panels</a> in just 4 percent of the worldâ??s desert area is sufficient to provide electricity for the whole universe. In layman&#8217;s terms, however, each panel is a collection of photovoltaic (PV) cells. The inner content of each PV cell is highly-purified silicon. The solution is deep cycle rechargable batteries, which can store power harnessed from the sun.</p>
<p>PV cells perform the electric conversion silently and without pollution, and the solar panels do not emit any radiation. Since the parts don&#8217;t move while <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/residential-solar-power/' target=_blank >generating residential solar power</a> the panels rarely brake down. Presently there are 14 types of PV cells, each made of varying kinds of silicon. use solar panels as a supplemental energy source for utility customers, rather than as their sole energy source.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Walk down any lighting aisle in your local big box home appliance store, and you find some run of the mill <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/specialty-solar-lights/' target=_blank >solar landscape lights</a>. Online venues sell more intricate options that are sometimes so breathtakingly beautiful that you cannot help but wonder: do solar landscape lights really work or are they just pretty things to stick in your yard? You will be surprised to learn that they are both gorgeous and functional, all at the same time. </p>
<p>Solar landscape lights for decorative accents lend a bit of lighting to the landscape without actually illuminating too much of the yard. This is done by savvy gardeners who want to create a somewhat ethereal quality to their outdoors. Right around trees, within bushes, and also around garden structures, these little <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/' target=_blank >solar landscape lights</a> make for a beautiful addition in any garden setting. </p>
<p>Of course, s<a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/store/' target=_blank >solar landscape lights</a> also fulfill practical applications, such as lighting a garden path, driveway, or simply illuminating an entrance way. There is a bit of a downside to these more functional lights, however, in that they require copious wiring to keep them working. What is more, in some cases the functional lighting devices lack the smaller solar cells and still rely on the more visible, albeit more functional, photovoltaic cells. </p>
<p>If you are ready to add landscape lighting to your yard, discuss your needs with a reputable dealer. The goal is to receive advice and also find out how combinations of these lights can set the tone for a yard, make it festive during the holidays, and also create the perfect ambiance for an evening barbeque.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Old fashioned <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/' target=_blank >solar panel technology</a> looked cumbersome and rather clunky on a rooftop. Even the more modern, sleeker looking panels still at times make a home look a bit odd. Leave it to indomitable gardeners to come up with unique ways of incorporating solar panel technology into their natural canvasses. </p>
<p>Greatly assisted in this innovation by the technological advances that make it unnecessary to shackle cords and plugs to the average solar panel, technology now makes it possible to even capitalize on out of the way corners or a sunny yard. Other locales for the new technology that now harnesses the power of the sun on a smaller scale are pool sides that face away from the home and even birdhouses.</p>
<p>Sure, the use of the smaller <a href='http://www.sunjuiced.com/' target=_blank >solar panel</a> technology may not any time soon help to power the inside of a home with all the gadgetry which makes life comfortable, but it does enable homeowners to at least power their exterior applications with the help of the sun?s power. </p>
<p>This often refers to electrically powered lawnmowers, hedge trimmers and pool accessories. When these items go off the grid, it greatly decreases the amount of money needed to overall power a home. What is more, this form of solar panel technology can be installed discreetly in trees, in whimsical gardening figurines and on the roofs of sheds. </p>
<p>Why not take another look at the new and improved solar panel technology and see what you could do with a few strategically placed panels?</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As we feel the harmful effects of fossil fuels and mainly other pollutants of our past and present, we are now forced to understand the consequences and go for selecting other smarter choice of energy Choices are available to power our homes, businesses and other needs with renewable resources such as solar energy. </p>
<p>Solar power technologies provide electrical generation by means of heat engines or photovoltaic. In short the sun&#8217;s rays are turned into clean, efficient energy that can be easily used. We can use solar energy for everything under the sun literally. </p>
<p>You can light your home, heat your home, and provide other ventilation needs through solar energy. You can grow better crops through solar energy greenhouses. It is quite possible to heat water for your home using a solar water heater. There is a never ending list of options. </p>
<p>You can learn more about solar energy through solar energy associations. Many organizations exist, ranging from state groups all the way to the American Solar Energy Society. (ASES), which is a non-profit organization. They are dedicated to increasing the use of solar energy, energy efficiency and other sustainable (renewable resources) technologies in the United States. </p>
<p>Another such association is the SEIA. The Solar Energy Industries Association promotes research and development of solar energy. They also along with the ASES believe in solar education and outreach. </p>
<p>The public can be educated as to the benefits of solar power in their own lives, through advocacy and outreach by such organizations. By doing just this we are becoming a part of the renewable resource revolution and providing hope for a healthier planet and successful future.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In this day and age, it is your responsibility and your obligation to be environmentally conscious and do your part towards conserving energy.</p>
<p>Cutting energy consumption is just one way to save, but it is also important to search for other types of fuel to eliminate air pollution and cease global warming. By using organic fuels like bio diesel and bio gas, air pollution and global warming can be reduced to some extent.</p>
<p>Cars are invented that can perform through batteries and solar power.<br />
Invention and usage of transportation by such means must be initiated and provided encouragement, for using it on a large scale.</p>
<p>This would result in less air pollution which in turn reduces the global warming and save the planet we live in. The solar cooker, which provides energy from the sun and converts it to power to cook with, should be used by people as an alternative to LPG and the microwave oven.</p>
<p>These are harmless and let us encourage all homes to become <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/solarhomes" target="_blank">solar homes</a> in the future so that we make the planet a liveable and lovable place for our next generation.</p>
<p>A <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/solarroofs" target="_blank">solar roof</a> no longer means adding square mirrored tiles to the roof of your home to make it solar efficient.</p>
<p>Presently you can buy solar roof panels which are made from such materials and are so designed that they are very similar to ordinary shingles in appearance.</p>
<p>You can replace all or only part of your roof with these solar shingles.<br />
The portion of the roof having solar equipment is then joined through wire to the collector or combiner box.</p>
<p>This runs into certain equipment which powers the home. There are multiple types of systems. One type is a system which is not connected to your utility company&#8217;s lines. This means that you use the solar power to power your own home alone.</p>
<p>In most instances a battery backup system should be added in the event due to climate or other issues the solar system does not provide or store enough energy to power the home. The other type is a solar system which is connected to the utility power lines.</p>
<p>Under this system you can generate solar power for your home as well as be connected to the utility grid if you need additional power or have any type of failure with the solar and battery system.</p>
<p>When we made our new house, I was not unduly worried about interiors and such things because I had entrusted the work to one reputed company and all I had to do was give my preferences and release funds as and when they required.</p>
<p>My only concern was to look for a good company which could take of <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/residentialsolar" target="_blank">residential solar</a> supply.</p>
<p>Since the city we had moved to, was not still aware of the importance of solar power, we had to really scout around looking for a good supplier of solar equipment, but our efforts did not bear fruit.</p>
<p>At the end, we were compelled to call an agent from an organization in the adjoining town to carry out the task.</p>
<p>Of course, the person charged for his travel but we did not mind. He did a brilliant job much to our satisfaction. And it should be said, we could easily offset the cost of the solar panels by the money we saved on our energy bill.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When you think about solar energy, you may think of those funky looking houses that have those weird looking panels on them. solar energy has many uses beyond those of producing electricity for houses or for cars. The <a href="http://www.solarpowerfast.com/" target='_blank'>advantages and disadvantages of solar power</a> are many, small electrical gadgets can be powered by solar energy in lieu of a battery unit or any outlet plug-in. gadgets such as cell phones, GPS units, and laptops can be solar energyed. The main disadvantage is that they only produce energy when they are in direct sunlight.</p>
<p>Here are some additional <a href="http://fwdmagazine.com/buildsolarpanel/" target='_blank'>advantages and disadvantages of solar power</a>. You can alter and customize your solar panels and battery array to collect any amount of energy you wish up to the threshold. After the threshold, or when the battery array is full, the solar energy is just being reflected from the solar panels. The battery should be compatible with the device you want to use it for. How many times have you been out fishing or camping and your cellphone battery array goes out? Most people carry cellphone adapters for their automobiles so that they may recharge the battery array in their motorcar. This is fine if the engine is on or the engine has been used to charge the battery array in the car. But running the engine is a cause of pollutants and other toxic materials which you are releasing out into the environment just by charging up your cellphone.</p>
<p>By having a cellphone solar powered battery charger, you are able to take your cellphone outside and leave the solar cells out in the direct sun. You can even do this inside on a windowsill that is directly influenced by the direct sun. You don&#8217;t have to worry about where to plug in your charger, you just have to worry about where the direct sun is and how long the solar panel needs to stay out to charge a battery array. It is convenient and easy-to-use, although a little expensive.</p>
<p>As applied science advances and the demand for solar powered contraptions increases, prices should go down and the applied science should be accelerated. Right now only 1% of all houses in the United States are powered by solar energy. If we think outside the box and go beyond the dwelling there is an entire world of tools that can be powered by the sun. All it takes is a little imagination and a little inquiry and someday soon we will be out of the grips of fossil fuels and nonrenewable energy. There are plenty of <a href="http://www.solarpowerfast.com/advantages-disadvantages-solar-power/" target='_blank'>advantages and disadvantages of solar power</a> but the advantages are far out weighing the disadvantages and as applied science moves forward, this gap will only increase.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you want to reduce your carbon footprint or save on energy bills, you may want to think about researching homemade <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-solutions/" target=_blank >solar power</a>. Integrating solar power into your life is a great idea. Energy from the sun is a renewable resource available to everyone. However, harnessing the power from the sun into solar panels can sound tricky. The truth is anyone can do it themselves, at home.</p>
<p>Commercial made solar panels can be very expensive. Thus, building them yourself can be an inexpensive and attractive option. You can have control over how much power you can generate with a homemade panel. You can choose how many panels you’ll use and how much wattage each panel will have. Because you are making the panels, you have complete control over it all.</p>
<p>One thing to consider before buying the supplies needed for solar panels is storage space. Do you have enough room to house the project? Do you have room to place the panels, once they’re complete? Most often you can place them on the roof so they can get direct sunlight. Talk with local solar retailers to get started. Ask a ton of questions and gather information on building your own panels, before you begin purchasing supplies. </p>
<p>By making your own homemade <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/" target=_blank >solar panels</a>, you’ll show your family you are capable of making a difference in the environment. In addition, you’ll save a great deal of money on your energy bills. Thus, taking the time to research and create your own homemade solar panels can be well worth the time and energy. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you know <a href="http://solarenergysecret.com/how-solar-energy-works/how-solar-energy-works-for-supporting-human-life/" target="_blank">how solar energy works</a> actually? Some people do not care too much on how solar energy works and it may happen on you too. Though, it will be very valuable to know how solar energy works for people.</p>
<p>Solar power is probably the cleanest and most viable form of renewable energy. The advantages of solar energy beats any other form of energy that depletes the natural resources of our planet and pollutes the environment. People of early civilizations have used this eternal source of natural power. They were familiar with how solar energy works at that time.</p>
<p>As the concern about the future of more conventional power sources grows, scientists are once again shifthing to solar power for running profitable and household activities. A better understanding of how the solar energy works is being combined with technological innovations in order to arrive at an affordable way of using energy from the sun for supporting life on earth.</p>
<p><strong>Passive and Active Use of Solar Energy</strong></p>
<p>The classic example of human understanding of how solar energy works can be seen in particularly designed buildings that face south (facing north in case of locations in the southern hemisphere). This allows maximum solar light and the associated heat to enter the building while minimizing the same in summer.</p>
<p>This kind of expertise in architecture has come to be known as <a href="http://solarenergysecret.com/how-solar-energy-works/how-solar-energy-works-for-supporting-human-life/" target="_blank">passive solar design</a> for buildings. A more active use of solar energy is made by creating particular kinds of material-called solar heat collectors-for gathering and holding solar energy. To obtain solar radiation, these collectors are located in the open place, mostly on the building&#8217;s roof.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Heating Systems</strong></p>
<p>Specifically designed lenses and mirrors are used for concentrating sunrays on a particular point or object so as to heat it up. Concentrated solar rays can generate a temperature as high as 3000 Celsius. Examples of such relatively simple heating systems include parabolic dishes parabolic troughs and central receivers. From a commercial point of view, parabolic troughs have so far been most victorious, especially in the American state of California.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Electricity</strong></p>
<p>Technology of photo electricity is the result of modern understanding of how solar energy works. The example of it is the electricity which is produced by sunlight. In 1839, a French scientist Edmund Becquerel reported the first observation of electric current produced in a substance by incident sunlight. Later, in the 1950s, Scientists at the Bell Laboratories invented Photovoltaic cells.</p>
<p>These cells were made of silicon and could change a small part of solar radiation directly into electrical energy when sunlight falls on their surface. These PV cells have been enhanced both in terms of affordability and efficiency commercial over the periods.</p>
<p>In general, commercial and scientific projects usually use PV technology. However, PV technology is recently applied for using solar energy at homes. Since the understanding of how solar energy works increase in the world, new means of utilizing solar energy is needed for supporting life of human being on earth.</p>
<p>Does that answer your question? For further explanation about <a href="http://solarenergysecret.com/how-solar-energy-works/how-solar-energy-works-for-supporting-human-life/" target="_blank">how solar energy works</a>, you can find the complete guide here!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Do you want a Solar Energy Home?</strong></p>
<p>Have you always wanted to use the benefits of a solar energy home?</p>
<p>Are you worried whether your grandchildren will have the energy they need to maintain our current standard of living?</p>
<p>Do you just want to reduce your dependence on non-renewable resources like foreign oil? </p>
<p><strong>Benefits of Solar Energy</strong></p>
<p>There are certain benefits you can expect from a solar energy home. The main one is a lower energy bill. In order to save the most money, you should keep price in mind on every decision you make if you are using solar energy in your home in order to save money. Compare the price to the expected savings to determine if something is a good investment. If you are doing it to save the environment, you may not care about price as much, but most people want to save money.</p>
<p>A few of the solar energy items discussed are listed belowHere are a few of the things you will learn about:
<ul style='list-style-type:disc'>
<li>green energy plans</li>
<li>solar water heating</li>
<li>energy conservation</li>
<li>solar panels</li>
<li>solar tubes</li>
<li>solar lighting</li>
</ul>
<p>One relatively inexpensive way to bring solar energy into your home is to use solar tubes to light rooms without windows. Basically, what you do is install a reflective tube with a clear cover on your roof to let light in. You can also go with a skylight, but they are much more expensive and don&#8217;t work if you have a standard ceiling that is several feet below your roof.</p>
<p>Solar water heaters are very popular when building a solar energy home. They are more expensive than a traditional water heater, but can substantially reduce the cost of heating your water. You can usually upgrade your existing water heater, but it is cheaper if it is installed when your solar energy home is being built.</p>
<p>Another easy way to harness solar power in your home is to use solar lights. These are typically used outside as accent lights. They harness the suns energy during the day to power the light after the sun goes down. They are very handy and you don&#8217;t have to worry about running wires underground to your lights.</p>
<p>Solar panels that generate electricity are the thing that most people associate with solar energy. Usually, you see these panels on the roof of a house. They harness the suns energy and create electricity that is stored in batteries for later use. It is possible to sell electricity to the power company if your home is extremely efficient. I wouldn&#8217;t recommend planning to sell electricity though, just focus on trying to get enough electricity to power your house and save a bunch of money on electricity.</p>
<p>There are tons more items, gadgets, and appliances that harness the suns power and help break the dependence on fossil fuels and non-renewable resources. These are a few of the most popular. Put everything together and you can have your own solar energy home! </p>
<p><strong>Affordable Alternative Energy</strong></p>
<p>If living off the power grid is what you are looking to do, there are alternate power solutions and you will be surprised to learn that they are not only cost-effective but also extremely feasible. There is an informational product called Earth4Energy can help you get started without spending a ton of money. You may even get addicted to renewable energy!</p>
<p>If you decide to start harnessing solar energy, learn about how to have <a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/Solar-Energy-Home-Residential-Solar-Power" target='_blank'>a solar energy home</a> work for you. You will find more information about Earth4Energy and how to get started.</p>
<p><strong>Conserving Energy</strong></p>
<p>You never want to waste energy, but if you are living in a solar energy home, it is even more important because you most likely won&#8217;t have a surplus of electricity. If you happen to be living &#8220;off grid&#8221; then it is vital that you don&#8217;t waste the electricity you have because you can&#8217;t tap into the electric company if you need more.</p>
<p>There are a lot of resources out there that will help you save electricity which then saves you money. I have put in a quick video that can get you started saving electricity and saving money.</p>
<p>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ADp0vlcyq4</p>
<p><strong>Buy your Renewable Energy</strong></p>
<p>Now if you are the type of person that really wants to help save the environment and break away from our dependence on non-renewable resources, but just can&#8217;t do the things people associate with a solar power home, don&#8217;t despair. There is a way that you can buy green energy from your power company. This way you can help save the environment and have a clear conscience even if you can&#8217;t put up solar panels or other solar energy devices in your home.</p>
<p>Many electricity companies have a green energy plan. Basically what happens is that you indicate that you want to support the use of green energy and select a plan that gets some amount of energy from solar, wind, or water sources. You will typically pay a little more for this, but if it helps the environment many people are willing to pay more. I personally use <a href="http://vanbergen.joinambit.com" target='_blank'>Ambit Energy</a> for my electricity service. They have a green energy plan that is very competitive. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar power is taking the world by storm and with just cause. Solar power is now being used in homes and businesses instead of traditional power sources supplying the power.</p>
<p>Rapidly, more and more consumers are leaning toward solar power for their main source of energy.</p>
<p>With <a title="Buy Complete Solar Kits for your Home" href="http://www.siliconsolar.com/?bid=26&amp;partner=shendison" target="_blank">solar panels</a> being easy to install, many people are choosing to convert their home by themselves! While there are many pros of solar power, there are a few cons as well.</p>
<p>Take a look at these lists to see if solar power is a viable option for you!</p>
<p><strong>Pros</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Solar power saves money (lower heating bills)!</li>
<li>Solar power is predictable, as the sun rises each day!</li>
<li>Solar power saves the environment (it produces no emissions)!</li>
<li>Solar power conserves oil and coal typically used for electricity!</li>
<li>Solar power can provide heating, cooling and lights!</li>
<li>You can install solar panels yourself!</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Cons</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>To convert a large building or residence can be expensive, initially.</li>
<li>Solar panels can be installed yourself, it can be difficult.</li>
<li>You may not save as much on energy bills as it cost to convert your home.</li>
</ul>
<p>Overall, the choice to switch to solar power is a good one. There are a multitude of great reasons you should switch and only a few negative aspects associated with solar energy. After all, it always feels great to do the right thing, “go green” and do your part to conserve the environment!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Photovoltaic cells—those black squares an array of which comprises a solar panel—are getting more efficient, and gradually less expensive, all the time, thanks to ever-better designs which all them to focus the gathered sunlight on a more and more concentrated point. The size of the cells is decreasing as their efficiency rises, meaning that each cell becomes cheaper to produce and at once more productive. As far as the aforementioned cost, the price of producing <a href="http://topsolarpower.info/advantages_and_disadvantages_of_solar_power.html" target="_blank">solar power</a> per watt hour has come down to $4.00 at the time of this writing. Just 17 years ago, it was nearly double that cost.</p>
<p>Solar powered electricity generation is certainly good for the environment, as this alternative form of producing <a href="http://topsolarpower.info/advantages_and_disadvantages_of_solar_power.html" target="_blank">solar power</a> gives off absolutely zero emissions into the atmosphere and is merely utilizing one of the most naturally occurring of all things as its driver. Solar collection cells are becoming slowly but surely ever more practical for placing upon the rooftops of people&#8217;s homes, and they are not a difficult system to use for heating one&#8217;s home, creating hot water, or producing electricity. In the case of using the photovoltaic cells for hot water generation, the system works by having the water encased in the cells, where it is heated and then sent through your pipes.</p>
<p>Photovoltaic cells are becoming increasingly better at collecting sufficient radiation from the sun even on overcast or stormy days. One company in particular, Uni-Solar, has developed solar collection arrays for the home that work well on inclement days, by way of a technologically more advanced system that stores more energy at one time during sunlit days than previous or other arrays.</p>
<p>There is actually another <a href="http://topsolarpower.info/advantages_and_disadvantages_of_solar_power.html" target="_blank">solar power systems</a> available for use called the PV System. The PV System is connected to the nearest electrical grid; whenever there is an excess of solar energy being collected at a particular home, it is transferred to the grid for shared use and as a means of lowering the grid&#8217;s dependence on the hydroelectrically-driven electricity production. Being connected to the PV System can keep your costs down as compared to full-fledged solar energy, while at once reducing pollution and taking pressure off the grid system. Some areas are designing centralized solar collection arrays for small towns or suburban communities.</p>
<p>Some big-name corporations have made it clear that they are also getting into the act of using solar power (a further indication that solar generated energy is becoming an economically viable alternative energy source). Google is putting in a 1.6 megawatt solar power generation plant on the roof of its corporate headquarters, while Wal Mart wants to put in an enormous 100 megawatt system of its own.</p>
<p>Nations such as Japan, Germany, the United States, and Switzerland have been furthering the cause of solar energy production by providing government subsidies or by giving tax breaks to companies and individuals who agree to utilize solar power for generating their heat or electrical power. As technology advances and a greater storage of solar collection materials is made available, more and more private investors will see the value of investing in this “green” technology and further its implementation much more.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-solutions/" target=_blank >Solar energy</a> has been around for as long as the sun has been in existence. Since the first days, when glass was used to magnify it, people have tried to harness the free energy the sun provides daily. Solar energy is a popular option because it requires little human effort (once harnessed), is abundant and is free to utilize. </p>
<p>Thus, it also helps human reduce their dependence on other resources like oil and gasoline. Solar energy is used for many purposes including, to heat homes/businesses, to cool homes/businesses, lighting, water distillation/purification and cooking. </p>
<p>Currently, photovoltaic (PV) cells and panels are the most popular method of harnessing solar energy. Experts can use photovoltaics to make photons put electrons into a higher state of energy, thus creating electricity. Research in this area is increasing rapidly and it’s becoming the fastest-growing area in energy technology to date.</p>
<p>In addition to the PV cells, there are concentrating solar methods used for solar energy. These methods use lenses, mirrors and other equipment to focus the sunlight in a small concentrated beam, which can then be used as electricity. </p>
<p>People are becoming more aware of how solar energy can help the environment and save them money over time. Thus, more business owners and homeowners are choosing to make the transition to solar powered energy. </p>
<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-panels/" target=_blank >Solar panels</a> are being installed in homes all over the world and can even be installed by homeowners themselves. The panels are “charged” by the sun throughout the day. The reserve energy is then used throughout the night hours, if needed for lighting and other forms of energy.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today’s homeowners are more interested than ever before in “going green”. People all around are talking about how they can help conserve energy, save money and save the environment. Thus, solar power is becoming and more popular option for people everywhere. <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-solutions/" target=_blank >solar energy</a> for homes is now an affordable and easy option for global conscious homeowners. </p>
<p>Most often, homeowners choose to have solar panels installed on their roof. Basically, this allows them to heat, cool and light their home with the power of the sun. All day, the sun’s rays charge the solar panels and energize the home. Then, the reserve energy is used throughout the evening hours as well. This allows homes to fully operate on the energy provided (at no charge) by the sun.</p>
<p>In addition to heating a home, solar energy for homes can do much more! Many people are choosing to use solar power to heat their outdoor pools. Solar powered pools allow the water to be heated, naturally. This provides a much more cost efficient way to heat the water and provide a warm haven for swimming.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-conversions/" target=_blank >Solar energy</a> for homes not only saves money, but the energy conserved helps save the world. The dependence on oil and gas for energy is no longer a problem with solar energy in the picture. As technology in solar power continues to progress, more people will be leaning on the power of the sun for basic energy needs. With solar power being abundant and free, there is no reason anyone shouldn’t consider making the solar transition.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With the world becoming more and more aware of the threat energy consumption puts on the environment, people are starting to frantically look elsewhere for sources of power. <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/categories/" target=_blank >Solar power</a> was once a far idea reserved for the hippies of the world to utilize. However, today it’s a very real option for homeowners and business owners. </p>
<p>With the cost of oil and gasoline increasing and the availability being complex, solar energy provides a viable solution. With this new trend emerging toward solar energy, solar energy stocks are increasingly popular. Of course, they are not only popular with individual investors but also government investments. </p>
<p>One of the major incentives encouraging homeowners to make the switch from traditional energy sources to solar power energy sources is the ability to save money over time. While many people do want to help the planet, most consumers are more interested in their monetary savings. </p>
<p>Thus, one reason solar energy stock trends are showing value is because people are willing to invest in something that will actually save them money over time. Homeowners aren’t afraid to spend money on solar panels when they understand the savings the panels will bring in the near future. </p>
<p>While technology stocks aren’t always a wise investment, <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target=_blank >solar energy stocks</a> are quite safe according to stock experts. With sunlight being plentiful and the technology improving each day, there is no reason to believe solar power will be extinct anytime soon. In fact, experts say solar energy stocks are long-term investments wise for anyone building their portfolio. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target="_blank">Solar power</a> is making headlines again and with the skyrocketing fuel costs, the recent rate hikes of the utility companies, and of course also the much overdue market innovations, it is not surprising that so many consumers are looking to the sun to fulfill a lot of their energy needs.</p>
<p><strong>What do you do with solar energy?</strong></p>
<p>If you have some solar panels installed on the roof of your home, you most likely have found a savvy way of lighting and heating your home.</p>
<p>Charging your batteries throughout the day free of charge – courtesy of the sin – and then using this stored up energy in the evening or even throughout the day to keep cool, warm, and overall comfortable.</p>
<p>On a much smaller scale you might decide to use a solar cooker that operates with little more than a reflector lid and some aluminum foil. Although it is not conducive to cooking up a three course meal, it comes in handy heating up things and reaching temperatures of up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.</p>
<p>At the same time, a <strong><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/solar-powered-gadgets-and-gizmos/" target="_blank">solar powered pool heater</a></strong> is sure to provide you with some backyard comfort as you get ready to enjoy the lazy days of summer without leaving home.</p>
<p>Even commercial applications are now found for <a href="http://www.renewablepoweroptions.com/category/solar//" target="_blank">solar energy</a>. There is the use of signage that is illuminated in the evenings with solar energy stored up throughout the day.</p>
<p>Other uses are still evolving, but it is only a matter of time until solar energy is as commonplace as dependence on oil and gas is today.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When discussing <a href="http://www.renewablepoweroptions.com/category/solar/" target="_blank">solar energy</a>, the most common application is the harnessing of power via the solar panels that are usually located on the roof.</p>
<p>These collect the solar energy throughout the day, store it, and then permit the user to draw from this energy in the evening or even during the day.</p>
<p>Solar lighting is another use of solar energy albeit more often than not considered the step cousin, twice removed.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/phocos_light.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-194" style="float: right;" title="Solar Light (Fluorescent) Image" src="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/phocos_light.jpg" alt="Flourescent Solar Light " width="106" height="178" /></a></p>
<p>Achieving solar lighting with a tube as another use for solar energy is quickly and easily done. It saves electricity in dark areas of the home during the day since it serves to illuminate areas which otherwise would have to rely on electricity for providing the much needed light.</p>
<p>In simplest terms, solar lighting does not require much more than a specially designed tube to be inserted into the roof of the home and then angled to the desired location.</p>
<p>There is no storing of energy, no battery hookup, and the only energy that will be yours with this form of <a href="http://simplysolarguide.com/?id=cyber49" target="_blank">solar power</a> is light and perhaps also some heat.</p>
<p>As sunlight is harnessed and directed via the tube, the homeowner is sure to save a lot of money and drastically reduce the energy consumption when at home. After all, there is always a need for just a bit more light and with the help of the solar tube it is yours for the asking.</p>
<p>While in well designed homes the needs for such tubes are not readily apparent, in homes where one side is blocked or devoid of windows, the lights do tend to be on all day.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar panels are the wave of the future and when you consider that already the technology is in place to harness the rays of the sun and turn it into life sustaining heat and cool as well as light, there is little surprise that commercial as well as residential consumers are lining up for their own solar powered systems. The business of solar panels – construction and pricing trends – thus far are the main reason why some homeowners are thinking twice about making this step, but with the recent innovations in the industry this, too, is subject to change.</p>
<p>First and foremost, the modules which are installed for the actual collection of sun energy have come down in price significantly and they are no longer the big, bulky and overall eyesore quality additions to a roof they once were considered to be. Although the technology is still a long way of from simply being carried at the local big box home improvement store for the avid do-it-yourselfer, a conversation with a skilled installer and sales agent educates the interested consumer in construction and pricing trends.</p>
<p>What makes solar panels – construction and pricing trends in particular – so favorable in the view of the consumer today is the fact that she or he is in the driver’s seat when it comes to determining how extensive the installation should be. Is the goal to get off the local power grid completely, or is it a mere supplement to the already existing energy source? Determining cost and extent of construction, the homeowner may decide if she would like to simply put a toe into the waters of change or boldly go all out!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The new resurgence of environmental consciousness has changed the way many consumers now want to receive their electricity. In the past only a few would consider solar energy to be the way of the future, but thanks to a recent shift in awareness there are no solar power plants and solar farms meeting energy needs of those ready to do right by Mother Earth and search out for a clean alternative to fossil fuels.</p>
<p>Nuclear energy was fraught with dangerous setbacks and to this end never really achieved the societal backing it needed to proceed while wind energy is not as reliable as the sun when it comes to finding an energy source that is going to deliver in the long term. Even with shifting weather patterns the sun, unlike the winds, is more or less the most reliable source possible.</p>
<p>Consumers hope that in addition to being environmentally friendly, getting their electricity from solar power plants and solar farms will put an end to rising energy costs. Companies are jumping on the bandwagon by also upgrading their personal solar panel production and selling consumers at the home for their very own solar power plant that will charge up batteries during the day with energy which may be used later on to power a plethora of appliances.</p>
<p>As &lt;a href=&#8221;http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-solutions/&#8221; target=_blank &gt;solar power&lt;/a&gt; plants and solar farms meet energy needs, consumers catch on to the fact that this energy source is virtually unlimited; there no longer is a need for treaties, expensive offshore drilling, or even dubious compromises that may still cause problems for the environment. Instead, clean energy truly is the wave of the future.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Who will be the consumer most likely to purchase a home solar panel system setup? Is it the environmentally conscious believer in climate change or is the savvy homeowner who realizes the long term savings of this investment? As a matter of fact, it is both and in addition it will be the consumer reached by the veritable cornucopia of companies that are manufacturing solar energy consuming appliances. Solar powered gadgets create a new niche and consumers are ready to buy.</p>
<p>It is no longer just the baby boomer who remembers that the environment is still in desperate need of saving who will be willing to possibly spend a bit extra on the purchase of solar powered gadgets. Given the current political climate, other eager buyers for this gadgetry are going to be patriotic Americans who refuse to support regimes that might provide the United States with oil and other resources, but that will turn around and take the money in an effort to bring down this country.</p>
<p>Patriotism and solar power may soon go hand in hand, just like hybrid cars and savvy automotive consumerism are now being equated. It is true that at this stage of the technological development the cost is still somewhat unaffordable for the majority of anticipated consumers to bear, yet in a few short years this is bound to be subject to change and before long the cost of solar powered gadgets will come down to such an extent that they are so affordable as to inspire the majority of consumers to revamp their homes’ energy receptacles.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar powered chargers are a necessity for a society that is working hard to get away from fossil fuels. Over time industry has learned that the old ways of receiving electricity are no longer going to find many willing consumers and with more and more private parties outfitting their homes with solar panels and also gadgetry to store the captured energy, manufacturers specializing in this form of technology are realizing that their profit avenues are shifting.</p>
<p>Although Mother Earth is most likely the most commonly cited reason for the perceived future need of solar powered chargers, it is much more likely that solar power is not only a clean alternative to fossil fuels but also a much more cost effective way of heating and cooling. With the rising costs of energy across the country, the race is on to find a new avenue of powering everyday life that is not only sustainable but also affordable.</p>
<p>So – should you convert to solar powered charges or should you wait for the exploration of other energy sources? This is a hard question to answer but by and large the general consensus seems to be that those who can afford it should go ahead and convert to solar powered chargers now, even if in the future a different form of energy will become the main avenue of powering life. After all, the little you can do today not only benefits you in the short run, but also the planet in the long run. With this attitude, everyone wins.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is a misconception that those most likely to benefit from solar energy tax credits are the big corporations that switch over their entire energy needs to solar reserves. Yet a closer examination of the issue showcases that the person who is most likely to reap the benefits of solar energy tax credits is going to be – you!</p>
<p>Freeing the United States from its still strong going dependence on foreign oil is a process that starts in the home and as such it is the individual consumer of energy who must seek out the benefits of solar energy. To make this is palatable proposition, energy tax credits are plentiful for those willing to take the plunge and invest a bit of money at the onset.</p>
<p>As solar energy is a long term proposition and the savings undoubtedly will build up considerably over time, more and more homeowners are certain to jump on the solar energy bandwagon. With the increased demand, technology will rapidly advance and drive down the costs it currently takes to outfit a home. Calculate in the savings that come with becoming independent of the energy grid, and the fiscal benefits keep adding up.</p>
<p>With this in mind, those most likely to reap the benefits of solar energy tax credit inevitably will upgrade and expand on their in home solar power gadgetry. This of course leads to an influx of solar energy powered appliances and with those the lure of the solar energy tax credits is going to pale. After all, if you sell it, they will come.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You can build a solar battery charger using photovoltaic cells as an experiment to understand the basic principles of photovoltaic power. It is an effective way of conserving energy, as well as saving money required for new batteries.</p>
<p>The example given below is a basic design for a solar battery charger:</p>
<p>You can experiment using more solar cells, or using other types of batteries like “AAA” or “D” or “C”.</p>
<p>Find out what happens if the cells are connected in parallel versus series.</p>
<p><strong>Materials Required:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Silicon Solar Cells (3)</li>
<li> Two “AA” rechargeable batteries</li>
<li> 2 Single Battery Holders for “AA” battery</li>
<li> Wire for connecting the cells and holder (preferably #26 gauge or less)</li>
<li> Small soldering iron (less then 50 watts)</li>
<li> Solder material (e.g. Rosin Core solder)</li>
<li> Flat board for mounting the cells and battery holder (e.g. perfboard)</li>
<li> Self-sticking fasteners like Velcro</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Procedure</strong><br />
(1) Solder the three solar cells in series with the help of connecting wire, as shown in the diagram. When the cells are connected in series, the voltage is increased by three times, which is sufficient to charge the battery (the voltage of a single battery is 1.25V). The current remains the same. Each 2&#215;4 cm solar cell will produce about 0.45 volt and 0.275 amp of usable current.</p>
<p>(2) Mount the cell on a board with the help of Velcro or any other material you can think of (e.g. Self-sticking Hoop-And-Loop Fasteners).</p>
<p>(3) Connect the battery holders in parallel.</p>
<p>(4) Connect the battery holder to the solar cells.</p>
<p>(5) Mount the battery holders with the rechargeable batteries, on the board.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/solarcell.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-178" title="Solar Cell Image" src="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/solarcell-300x171.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="171" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/series1.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-179" title="Series Arrangement Image" src="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/series1-300x181.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="181" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/series2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-180" title="Parallel Arrangement Image" src="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/series2-300x172.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="172" /></a></p>
<p>(6) Place the board with the cells and battery holder in direct sunlight. It can be laid horizontal, but it is better to tip up the board towards the direction of the sun. This increases the efficiency of the solar cells.</p>
<p>(7) Use rechargeable batteries that are dead.</p>
<p>(8) If you have a voltmeter at home, you can check the voltage in the batteries, at intervals.</p>
<p>(9) It should take approximately a day to charge the batteries.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Precautions</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Make sure that the solar cells are placed in full sunlight with no shadows falling over them. Be careful while handling the soldering gun. Wear safety glasses! If you want to avoid the soldering, an enclosed solar module could also be used for this experiment. Note: The battery holders have batteries connected in parallel; therefore, the voltage remains the same and the current is divided.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">You can find most of the material required around the house, like the wire or board. However, for your convenience, listed below are all of the items required for the experiment, which are available at Radio Shack.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/fig3.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-181" title="Solar Batter Charger Image" src="http://www.sunjuiced.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/fig3-300x233.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="233" /></a></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Material Specifications:</strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
<ul>
<li>Silicon Solar Cell (3) 276-124 4.49 Or Enclosed Solar Module RSU 11903085 10.99 (1.5V, 200mA)</li>
<li>2 “AA” Batteries (1 pack) 23-125 5.49 Rechargeable Ni-Cds</li>
<li>2 Single Battery Holders 270-401 0.79 (For 1 “AA” no.26)</li>
<li>Prepunched Perfboard 276-1394 2.39 (41/2 x 6”)</li>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar energy used to be considered the energy source of choice for the tree hugging, granola eating set. Since then the cost of fossil fuels has skyrocketed and virtually every major power supply conglomerate has raised the rates of supplying the public with electricity and other sources of energy.</p>
<p>Suddenly, <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/solar-technology/" target=_blank >solar energy</a> is not looking so bad anymore and with the help of public pressure, solar energy investment trends now encompass the spending of not only the private investor by also the governmental backer.</p>
<p>Meeting the energy needs of the average home is overall not an expensive proposition and many a homeowner has chosen to combine the understanding that environmental damage must be avoided while a stable form of sustainable energy is still much preferred to periodic blackouts.</p>
<p>Although in the past the cost of the photovoltaic panels on a home was considered prohibitive, anymore this technology is hailed as a long term investment and those who are investment savvy recognize the trends and are willing to enter in for the long haul.</p>
<p>While private solar panels now present sleek and technologically advanced additions to any home, the commercial applications are also quite impressive. Areas in California and other locales where sunlight is plentiful now sport vast fields of nothing but solar panels harnessing the sun’s energy power and those who got in on the ground floor of this investment opportunity are laughing all the way to the bank.</p>
<p>Yet it is not too late. Solar energy investment trends prove to be a long-lived proposition and most likely will be around for a while yet.</p>

<p>Our resources of energy, like fossil fuel reserves and natural gas, are decreasing day by day; while at the same time, the demand for energy in our country and across the globe is increasing. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand, develop and explore other forms of energy resources.</p>
<p>Renewable energy resources like the sun and wind play a major role in the development of a<br />
sustainable future. The younger generation, especially, have to understand that the issue of energy has a major impact on their future lives. </p>
<p>For this reason, there is a great need for education about renewable energy options, such as solar energy. As well, many of the environmental concerns of the earth are due to pollution from the burning of fossil fuels. The “Greenhouse Effect” is an important example of an environmental problem caused by pollution.</p>
<p>You can build a quick solar energy cooker (see the next article) that you can then use to cook a variety of foods. It can be a fun project that may even inspire you to build a full size solar oven, which is also an easy project that anyone can do.</p>
<p>SOLAR HEATING</p>
<p>Solar heating is an important and very practical step towards a sustainable future. The objective of the activities in this section is to design and build devices that utilize the sun’s energy as heat.</p>
<p>Solar heating starts with solar collectors which are divided into two basic groups: flat plate and focusing collectors.</p>
<p>The flat plate collector absorbs the sun’s energy and converts it into heat, while the focusing collector concentrates the sunlight either by reflecting or refracting to achieve higher temperatures.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are thousands of different solar powered gadgets available from solar mailboxes to solar watches and more. Solar powered gadgets are getting cheaper as the solar panel technology improves and gets less expensive to manufacture.</p>
<p>Heres a few of the innovative solar gadgets available on the market today and some examples of specific solar powered products to consider.</p>
<p>What about gadgets with built-in batteries? When it comes to charging your phone or iPod, the sun has been left you cold.</p>
<p>One innovative product, HYmini, is a universal power charger that uses wind and solar energy to top up most gadgets, and it comes with mini solar panels and extra batteries. Twenty minutes of wind power will provide 30 minutes of iPod time.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Flashlights &#8211; </strong><br />
Hand-held solar flashlights operate for nearly three hours when fully charged, and can be mounted on a bicycle for nighttime rides. Some of the features for this cool gadget are AM FM reception — AM range: 525-1650 KHz, FM range: 88-108 MHz; Built-in dynamo generator with manual winding lever, Built-in flashlight (with clear, amber and red lenses); Hi-fi speaker and 3.5mm earphone jack.</p>
<p>A solar powered flashlight that can also charge your cell phone, MP3 player, or PDA is on useful and versatile solar powered gadget. The ultra-bright LED flashlight (65,000MCD) uses mono-crystalline silicon solar panels for power generation and recharging the built-in 700mAh/3.6v NI-MH battery.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Tents &#8211; </strong><br />
Yes, it is a tent that comes with it&#8217;s own solar panel and integrated, interior LED lights. You can also use the solar panels independently to charge batteries. It&#8217;s approximately 4-6 hours of direct light to yield 2-4 hours tent light. The 7&#8243; (18 cm) solar panel is placed on the top of the tent&#8217;s hub and clicked into place. The fly is then placed on top of solar panel &amp; tent, and sun will charge the panel through the clear PVC window at the top of the fly. The tent comes in as 4-person and a 6-person versions.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Lighters &#8211; </strong><br />
This great solar fire starter is perfect for backpacking, boating, hiking and as a solar survival tool.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Tombstones &#8211; </strong><br />
Vidstone developed the solar powered Serenity Panel, &#8216;Utilizing ground-breaking solar-powered technology, this weather-proof LCD panel provides families and friends with a timeless way to commemorate a life that’s passed at one’s final resting place.&#8221; It adds about two grand to the price of a conventional tombstone and has a waterproof 7&#8243; screen. Four hours of sunlight will play a ten minute video six times. Michael at Groovy Green notes that &#8216;There’s even a head-phone jack to limit your groove from beyond the grave to inquiring ears only.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Solar Lighted Mailboxes &#8211; </strong><br />
Solar panels gathers the sun&#8217;s energy and charge the battery pack. At night, address panels automatically light up at dusk and go off at dawn.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Powered Headset &#8211; </strong><br />
A solar-powered headset is a solar gadget perfectly suited for the environmentally-conscious outdoorsman who loves music. This headset is great for daytime jogging, or working in the yard.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Radio &#8211; </strong><br />
You will be able to listen your favorite radio shows and if you need to see better in the dark the flashlight is included.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Watches – </strong><br />
Swiss-made LeJour solar watches ($99.95), which run on either sunlight or ambient lighting, work for a month in total darkness.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Backpacks and Bags -</strong><br />
Solar bags are some of the coolest green products out there, and they make a great gift, too! Compare and choose which one best meets your needs and your taste. The name says it all, the Voltaic Backpack Solar Powered Backpack is a daypack that host several small solar panels on the back of the bag.</p>
<p>The idea is that the Voltaic Backpack Solar Powered Backpack can charge your small electronics such as MP3 players, cameras, etc as you travel. You can also switch the sun jar completely off to save power. Keeping the lantern in bright sunlight for 8 hours you will supply it with power for 3 hours. If you need it fully charged then you should keep it in the sunlight for 30 hours.</p>
<p><strong>Solar Power Chargers and Battery Packs &#8211; </strong><br />
Solar battery chargers bring a pair of nickel-cadmium batteries to life in less than seven hours. It&#8217;s not clear how long the panels need to soak in the sun&#8217;s rays, but Velleman claims this power brick&#8217;s good enough to charge laptops, electric hand tools, GPS systems and&#8211;we kid you not&#8211;caravans, yachts, and DC refrigerators.</p>
<p>The Solio will charge from 4 volt to 12 volt devices by doubling or tripling the power output using the adapters. There are four contacts in the adapter tip system cable and to get up to the higher 12 volts it just uses three of these outputs at 3.6 volts to get the 10.8 volts for these higher voltage charges.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When many people hear solar cell they give you the deer in the headlights look. To keep it simple consider the solar cell calculators that came out in the 1980’s. No battery simply powered by light. This is the dream and soon the reality of what could be powering your next family sedan. </p>
<p>Solar cell powered vehicles are making their way to us in the near future. With companies such as Honda making great strides in solar cell testing we may all be using solar cell energy by the year 2030. Not only our vehicles but also our homes our business and so on will be powered by the sun. The Honda FCX clarity is not solar powered at this time but it is a zero emissions vehicle. </p>
<p>This means no harmful fumes are expelled for environmental harm. This was a dream in 1986 and is a reality in 2008. Vehicles are making there way to running from electric motors with no more toxic fume expulsion. We are seeing more and more solar devices such as water heaters, cell phone chargers and lampposts that use solar cells for energy production. </p>
<p>We will soon be able to breath easier as the world becomes a cleaner place thanks to time, effort and research. Information on solar powered vehicles from its beginnings in history in the 1980’s to where we are and where we are going can be found online. There are even sites that show you steps to building your own <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target=_blank >solar powered vehicles</a>. You will be amazed and on board for the changes that await us.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The use of solar powered products can save you thousands of dollars in energy costs. An example of this is an office building within the United States that installed solar panels. In a short period of two years they saved $14,000 in energy costs. Not only did they save money but the have been saving the environment. </p>
<p>Our nation runs mostly on fossil fuels. This non-renewable energy resource costs us millions of dollars to drill, extract, ship and burn all while causing toxins to be emitted into the air. The ozone is being eaten away into extinction and the polar ice caps are melting away. </p>
<p>Our world is being turned upside down by products that we do not even have to rely on. Save yourself money and save the environment by using solar powered chargers for your phone, solar panels on your home and by 2030 use a solar powered vehicle. You can breath easier and so can your great grand children some day. </p>
<p>The time to be wise with the world we live in is now. As human beings we have no place to go and why should we. The earth is our home. We should care for it and respect it. Take some time to learn more about <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target=_blank >solar energy</a> use and the many great benefits that it provides for humankind and all of the inhabitants of earth. Remember the golden rules that we should all follow: reuse, reduce, and recycle. Solar power can help us to achieve this and more.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you pay any attention to the news, chances are that you have heard a bit about <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target=_blank >solar power</a>as of late. In fact, solar power has been a main topic of conversation for quite some time now. </p>
<p>After all, if scientists and other experts can learn how to use solar power, it is going to take a large strain off of many other resources. For this reason, it is safe to say that solar power is going to become more prevalent in the near future.</p>
<p>Generally speaking, solar power is nothing more than the use of solar radiation from the sun in order to produce energy. As you can imagine, as long as the sun stay around, it is more than possible to use solar power. </p>
<p>The only reason that solar power would stop working would be if the sun were to go away. And obviously, if this happens the world will have much bigger problems. Solar power has been used for a long time, but it is only now that more and more people are trying to decide the best ways to use it.</p>
<p>At this time solar energy is used for a wide range of tasks including: heating water, heating buildings, powering cars, and much more. And this is only the beginning of what solar power has to offer. </p>
<p>All in all, it will be interesting to see where <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/specialty-solar-lights/misc/" target=_blank >solar power</a> goes from here. Although it is being used, at this point it is still lagging a bit behind; but not for long!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As you can imagine, solar power is more popular today than ever before. Not only are there a lot of people who are interested in the development side of things, but the same thing holds true for those who are simply watching the industry. When it comes down to it, the future of the earth depends on the development of solar power. </p>
<p>This is not to say that things are going to get real bad if solar power lags behind, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on. After all, if solar power can become popular all over the world, pollution will decrease and the way that people live will get much better.</p>
<p>If you are interested in keeping an eye on solar power development, all you have to do is take the time to watch television. Better yet, you can get past all the worthless stories by heading to your favorite news website. By searching for solar power, you will be able to stay up to date with all of the developments within the industry. </p>
<p>If this sounds like something you would be interested in, you should consider reading these news stories on a daily basis. You will be surprised at how much you can learn about solar power development by reading and watching television.</p>
<p>All in all, <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target=_blank >solar power</a> is being developed at a faster rate than ever before. More and more people are interested in this, and for the world to move forward safely, it is essential that solar power become more popular. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Unless you have a severe sun allergy that prohibits you from walking outside or being near a window during the day, you have felt the power of the sun. The warming rays ensure humanity&#8217;s very existence. Since the beginning humans have needed the sun to grow food, provide warmth and light the way. </p>
<p>It may just be another star in the sky but for Earth it is what gives us life. There is more to the sun than just allowing us to spend a day outside. It can be the solution to our energy problems. Solar power may be the future of the Earth in more ways than one and in this audio program we will discuss some of the most common questions and answers regarding <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/specialty-solar-lights/misc/" target=_blank >solar power</a>.</p>
<p>What is solar power?</p>
<p>Solar power is the photovoltaic and thermal rays from the sun that is used to create electricity. Solar rays travel from the sun, pass through Earth&#8217;s atmosphere and are collected in special cells which then store and produce electrical current for human use. </p>
<p>Is solar power and solar energy the same thing?</p>
<p>Actually even though people interchange both words, they are not the same thing. Solar energy is the &#8220;catch all&#8221; term that describes all the uses of solar rays. Solar power is the specific action of photovoltaic rays being captured and converted into electricity. Most people do not realize the difference and it is a very common misconception.</p>
<p>Why should we use solar power?</p>
<p>There are many reasons to use solar power. The first is the growing problem of fossil fuels. Scientists and environmentalists know that eventually fossil fuels will run out. When this happens, humanity must have another method of fuel. </p>
<p>There is also the problem with the emissions that come about as a direct result of burning fossil fuels. The sun provides constant power and it is in everyone&#8217;s best interest to utilize this natural resource. The sun is free and unlikely to go anywhere in the next three thousand years.</p>
<p>What happens if it is a cloudy day?</p>
<p>Unless you have storage for your collected <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target=_blank >solar power</a>, you will have to rely on other means to heat, cool or power your home. If the solar panels do not receive sunlight, the process of converting the thermal rays into electricity does not happen. If you do have storage, the power will be pulled from there.</p>
<p>What is the Kyoto Protocol?</p>
<p>The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement between nations that is aimed at reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases. Current theories state that the &#8220;Greenhouse Effect&#8221; is a dire predicament Earth is facing as rising temperatures occur all over the Earth. This rise in temperature will allegedly cause climactic changes and the extinction of many species.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As solar technology advances, the more compact a solar power system is becoming, which is increasingly attractive to homeowners who want to reduce their utility bills. In addition to being cost effective, choosing to install <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/specialty-solar-lights/misc/" target=_blank >solar panels</a>into your home is very friendly to the environment. In this article, we&#8217;ll explain how solar power works and how you can use it to your benefit.</p>
<p>Photovoltaic means electricity from light. This solar power system uses daylight to power ordinary electrical equipment like household appliances, computers and lighting. Having your own solar photovoltaic (PV) system means that you can generate your own electricity from the free and inexhaustible solar power. A photovoltaic system never needs refueling, emits no pollution and can be expected to operate for twenty to twenty-five years with minimal maintenance. A typical PV system on a house roof could prevent over 34 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions during its lifetime.</p>
<p>The electrical output of a PV cell is dependent upon the intensity of the light to which it is exposed. Therefore, PV cells usually generate more electricity on bright days than when skies are overcast. This does not mean that your solar system will not work when skies are grey. Over the last few years, PV technology has also started to be introduced into urban areas, incorporated into the roofs and facades of homes, offices and factories. </p>
<p>Before installing a solar power system into your home, carefully evaluate your goals. Do you want to completely eliminate your electricity bill? How many solar panels will your home need to be able to operate effectively? Lastly, how many solar panels can you reasonably afford? Before you completely cover your roof in panels, keep in mind that installing more modules beyond a certain point ceases to be financially efficient. Using a Solar Pathfinder to determine the net energy output of partially shaded modules will determine if it is economically beneficial to install modules in those areas.</p>
<p>Investing in a <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com" target=_blank >solar power system</a> for your home or business is a wise decision, both economically and environmentally. A properly designed and installed solar system can pay for itself in as little as five to ten years — and even faster if you take advantage of manufacturer and government rebates. Solar electricity can raise the value of the home and create a brighter outlook for the future of our planet.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you&#8217;re drowning in the cost of your utility bills, then investing in a solar water heater may be the life-jacket that you&#8217;re looking for. These hot water systems can save you a bundle on heating water for your home because it uses sun energy as fuel. Unlike fossil fuels, sunshine is free, clean and there is an infinite supply. In this article, we&#8217;ll explain how these systems work and how it can save you money. </p>
<p>Sun powered water heating systems include storage tanks and solar collectors. There are two<br />
types of these heating systems: active, which have circulating pumps and controls, and passive heating systems, which don&#8217;t. Passive heating systems are typically less expensive than active systems, but they&#8217;re usually not as efficient. </p>
<p>However, passive systems can be more reliable and may last longer. For active systems, discuss the maintenance requirements with your system provider and consult the system&#8217;s owner&#8217;s manual. Most water heaters that run on sun power, require a well-insulated storage tank. </p>
<p>Solar storage tanks have an additional outlet and inlet connected to and from the collector. In two-tank systems, the solar heater preheats water before it enters the conventional water heater. In one-tank systems, the back-up heater is combined with the solar storage in one tank. </p>
<p>The main problem with solar water heating systems is that they require a backup system for those days when the sun is obliterated by clouds. Conventional storage water heaters usually<br />
provide backup and may already be part of the solar system package. A backup system may also<br />
be part of the solar collector, such as rooftop tanks with thermo-siphon systems. </p>
<p>Since an integral-collector storage system already stores hot water in addition to collecting solar heat, it may be packaged with a demand water heater for backup. Before you purchase and install a solar powered water heating system, you should consider the economics of solar energy systems, evaluate your site&#8217;s solar resource, determine the correct system size and energy efficiency and check into your local codes and regulations. </p>
<p>The proper installation depends on your solar resources, climate, local building code requirements and safety issues. It&#8217;s best to have a qualified, solar thermal systems contractor install your system. Regular maintenance on simple systems can be as infrequent as every 3–5 years, preferably by a solar contractor. Systems with electrical components usually require a replacement part after 10 years. </p>
<p>Although <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/misc" target=_blank >solar water systems</a> do have minor problems, the technology is quickly catching up.<br />
These systems are a smart investment for consumers because they pay for themselves in a relatively short period of time by reducing your utility bills. </p>
<p>As a bonus, many governments and manufacturers offer rebates to people purchasing environmentally friendly household products. Buying a solar energy system is a win-win situation. You can save money on your utility bills, all the while being environmentally responsible.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Solar energy is a renewable energy source that is produced by the sun&#8217;s rays. This energy can be tapped indirectly as wind, biomass, hydroelectric power and directly as <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/" target="_blank">solar energy</a> (thermal and photovoltaic). In this article, we&#8217;ll shine a light on solar power and how it can be used in your home or business.</p>
<p>The greatest benefit of sun power is that it&#8217;s pollution-free. Today&#8217;s world economy is reliant on fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas. However, they are nonrenewable resources and create pollution when burned. </p>
<p>Renewable energy cannot be used up and it does not generate pollution. Sustainability means that we make sure we meet our energy needs and ensure the health of the planet for future generations. Eventually, we will run out of nonrenewable energy supplies and the pollution caused by using these energy sources is already becoming a serious problem. The sooner we switch to using renewable energy, the cleaner the air we breathe and water we drink will be.</p>
<p>Solar power is more common than you may think. Drying your clothes outside uses solar energy. Calculators powered by cells instead of batteries are using solar power. The technology used to transfer sunlight into usable energy isn&#8217;t cheap, but the value of a clean planet makes it worthwhile. </p>
<p>Soon, everyone will use renewable energy sources to power their homes and businesses. Soon, reportedly by the year 2030, most people will be using alternative energy sources to supply the power they need to heat their houses, drive their car or just watch television.</p>
<p>There are more solar household products available than most consumers realize. Solar cookers use sunshine as a source of heat for cooking, drying and pasteurization. Solar chemical processes convert solar energy into chemical energy. </p>
<p>These processes use both light (photochemical) and heat (endothermic) to drive chemical, thermochemical or thermoelectric reactions. Solar chemical reactions can be used to store solar energy or replace energy that would otherwise be required from an alternate source. The solar powered car has been an engineering goal for 20 years and is expected to soon become a reality.</p>
<p>There are great benefits to utilizing <a href="http://www.sunjuiced.com/category/misc" target="_blank">solar power</a>. Solar heating alone would reduce the need for nonrenewable energy, create jobs and stimulate economic growth. This developing technology will only be beneficial to our planet if people take advantage. </p>
<p>Cost is a deterrent for most people, but there are also savings to be had. After the initial investment of installing solar panels, a family can save a great deal of money on heating costs. To save our environment &#8211; that&#8217;s money well spent.</p>
