In the early 1980’s inventors dabbled with solar power vehicle creations and raced them annually for fun. From this time to now companies such as Honda have made a fuel cell vehicle that is zero emission. No fumes or gasses to be expelled into the air. The Honda FCX clarity only expels water. This was a dream in 1986 and has been released in California the year 2008 as a reality. With this project completed and soon to become widespread the next task is to create a solar cell vehicle. This vehicle would have no emissions as well. It would be powered by the energy of the sun. Some people believe that this is still a distant futuristic dream but if we can have calculators, lights and water heaters running off solar power, why not a car? Prototypes are in the works and heavy testing is being implemented to bring solar powered vehicles to the world. Plants in Japan are making excellent progress. The ability to use a renewable resource that has no fear of running out such as fossil fuels is amazing. No more pollution causing transportation. We can drive and know that our children’s children’s children can breath better for the future.
